
Celebration of the Chinese New Year in the United Arab Emirates highlighted the deep historical and strategic ties between the UAE and the People's Republic of China. In Abu Dhabi, magnificent celebrations took place, during which the Umm Al Emarat Park was transformed, where a large cultural event was organized in collaboration with China Media Group. Stunning fireworks, unique culinary experiences, and exclusive hotels were developed to create an immersive celebratory atmosphere.
Chinese New Year celebrations in the UAE have become an important annual event, reflecting significant bilateral relations between the two nations. In the context of global celebrations, the Chinese New Year in Abu Dhabi was chosen as one of seven families worldwide to host these events, emphasizing the importance of bilateral relations and cultural exchange between the two countries, especially in light of the 40-year history of diplomatic relations.
In Dubai, the Chinese New Year celebrations began on January 24 and will continue until February 2. With approximately 400,000 Chinese residents in the UAE, the celebrations present them an opportunity to showcase this cultural tradition and allow Emiratis and other residents to experience and appreciate the rich heritage and customs of China. Organized by the Chinese Consulate General, the celebrations include six major events, including an electric car presentation and the Ghayl Festival, which is part of the Chinese Spring Festival, one of the most significant traditional Chinese celebrations.
The Dubai festival and trade directorate also presented a series of special events dedicated to Chinese culture, along with exclusive promotions and raffles totaling up to 50,000 dirhams, including luxurious cars. Well-known brands are participating in the celebrations, offering significant discounts on fashion, cosmetics, and electronics. The program also includes various entertainment and cultural performances, including a concert by the Fidaus Orchestra at Expo Dubai on January 26.
